Fantastic, Jane. Did not know any of what you managed to find out beyond my grandfather. We were always told that the family had come over from Edinburgh. Maybe that was the only place in Scotland they knew! We had always thought the family came from the Scottish mainland straight to Boston in the 1800s. To have discovered that our family settled on St John's Island, Canada in 1772 after moving from a Scottish island and the reasons why is truly awesome. We are planning some visits.
